FAA & UAE take big regulatory steps

Thursday, November 26, 2015 - 10:24

The recent news from the FAA & UAE really underpins the fast moving environment that the drone industry currently finds itself a part of. The long awaited FAA proposal has gone beyond industry expectations and shown a real appetite for innovation. While inevitably there are some draw backs and limitations it's certainly a good starting point and one that should allow the industry to capitalize on the somewhat unlimited commercial possibilities of UAVs.

In addition to this the UAE has reaffirmed it's commitment to be at the forefront of technology and innovation. His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was in attendance to award Swiss company Flyability their USD $1m prize. Flyability won the inaugural 'UAE Drones for Good Award' which was held from the 9th-11th of February in Dubai. At the end of last week the UAE confirmed they are in the final stages for a law for unmanned aircraft. UAV Protect have been prepared for these developments and have a comprehensive range of insurance products in place to make sure our clients are able to capitalize on growing commercial opportunities.
